On the deck of a steampunk airship above a storm, a giant armored sky leviathan sheds glowing storm cores into the clouds below. Skyhook plays on a 5×5 board with 3125 ways, and before each spin you throw the harpoon into any cell. Its 3×3 crater spears the STORM CORES it hits and reels them in. Land a STORM HEART in the crater, and the hunt turns into the LEVIATHAN RUN.

01The mechanics

How it plays.

  1. 01

    THE HARPOON

    Throw it into any cell before a spin. Its 3×3 crater always covers nine cells, and every cell has the same chance. STORM CORES in the crater are reeled in and paid with the spin.

  2. 02

    LEVIATHAN RUN

    A hold and win with 3 HARPOONS. On each FIRE, new cores can drift up and stick, and anything landing gives back all three. A CHAIN LINK in the crater adds +1 to the spear's multiplier.

  3. 03

    FINAL THROW

    After every run, the last harpoon hits one of three armor scales for a multiplier from ×1 to ×10. It never goes below ×1, and which scale you hit makes no difference.

  4. 04

    BULLSEYE

    A STORM HEART in the harpoon's own cell is a BULLSEYE. The LEVIATHAN RUN then starts at ×2 instead of ×1, before the first harpoon has even been fired.

02The moment

The BIG REEL. The last harpoon is spent, the chain snaps taut, and every storm core on the board is dragged onto the spear before the final throw slams into the leviathan's armor.
