Feudal Japan as a woodblock print: a stormy shore, a red sun, and a giant floating Oni mask that a young swordswoman has come to hunt. 01The mechanics

How it plays.

  1. 01

    BOSS FIGHT

    Reels 1 to 4 belong to the hero, reel 5 to the boss. Every strike pays its damage and drains one of three life bars. Breaking a bar pays a bounty and refills the hearts; his club costs one.

  2. 02

    FURY

    Down to her last heart, the hero fights harder: every strike deals double damage. The fight is never over until the final heart is gone, so a near loss can still turn into the breakthrough.

  3. 03

    BLOOD MOON FIGHT

    HERO and BOSS with two or three VS start the BLOOD MOON FIGHT. On the board the sun turns into a blood moon, and the Oni walks into the duel already wounded.

  4. 04

    FINAL DUEL

    Offered only as a bonus buy, the FINAL DUEL starts against a badly wounded Oni. Red lightning strikes during the trigger, and katana and club cut the screen open in an X.

02The moment

The katana cuts the screen. A white-gold slash crosses it, the picture splits into two halves of ink that slide apart, and behind them the night stairway to the fortress opens, fire burning in the bowls as the bonus seal stamps down.

Defeating the Oni pays the max win of 10,000× the bet, and the fight ends there.

Is the bonus a round of free spins?

No. The bonus is a fight with hearts and three life bars. It runs until the hero has no hearts left or the boss falls, and everything won along the way is paid.
